Palm Beach

Marine detailing that never slips, because it is on a schedule

Vantage is based in Lake Park, on the Lake Worth Lagoon, which makes the Palm Beach corridor the closest water there is. The wash runs bi-weekly as part of the weekly program, and the deeper finish work is scoped, sourced, and inspected rather than sold to you.

Vantage is based here, on the Lake Worth Lagoon

Lake Park is home. The boats between the Palm Beach Inlet and Jupiter are the ones Captain Trace sees most, and the marinas along this stretch of the lagoon are a few minutes from his own dock rather than an hour up the Intracoastal.

That matters for detailing more than for almost anything else, because detailing done well is not an event. It is a wash cycle that never slips, which only happens when the person doing it is genuinely local to the boat.

The scheduled washing is Captain Trace's own work, done on a bi-weekly cycle as part of the weekly program. Correction work, coatings, and interior restoration are trades, scoped by him and performed by specialists, with the quote reviewed before you approve it.

What the scheduled wash covers

The same steps, in the same order, every time the boat is washed.

  • Full fresh water rinse from the hardtop down before soap touches anything
  • Topsides, house, hardtop, and hull sides washed with a marine soap that will not strip wax
  • Non-skid scrubbed rather than sprayed, where salt and grime actually collect
  • Glass and isinglass cleaned with a dedicated product, never an ammonia glass cleaner
  • Stainless rinsed and dried so it is not left to spot and bleed
  • Cockpit, gunwales, covering boards, and steps wiped down
  • Canvas and covers rinsed and set correctly before the boat is closed
  • The boat left dry, closed, and secured the way she was found

Work beyond the wash

Each of these is performed by a specialist. Vantage decides what the boat actually needs, sources the shop, reviews the quote, and inspects the work, taking no cut of it.

  • Gelcoat restoration

Faded, chalky, or damaged gelcoat brought back by compounding and polishing rather than replaced with paint. Covered in detail on the gelcoat restoration page.

  • Oxidation removal

The chalk that Florida sun produces on unprotected gelcoat, corrected with the least aggressive step that will actually work rather than the most profitable one.

  • Ceramic coating

A durable protective layer that reduces the ongoing wash burden, worth applying only over properly prepared gelcoat and with a realistic expectation of its life in this sun.

  • Bottom and hull cleaning

Diving work, coordinated with a diver on an interval matched to where the boat sits. Running gear, props, and zincs reported into the same maintenance record as everything else.

  • Canvas and isinglass

Cleaned with the right products, checked for stitching and chafe, and re-treated on a cycle so it is maintained rather than replaced early.

  • Interior detailing

Upholstery, headliner, and joinery, plus the mildew a closed boat produces in a Florida summer. Sourced and inspected on completion.

Why washing catches problems

There is a practical reason Captain Trace washes the boats he manages instead of subcontracting it. Nobody covers every square foot of a boat as closely as the person washing her.

Lifted non-skid, a hairline in the gelcoat, a deck fitting starting to weep, a hatch gasket gone hard, canvas stitching failing in one corner, none of that announces itself, and all of it is obvious to somebody with a wash mitt on the surface it is happening to.

That is why the wash sits inside the weekly program rather than being sold as its own service, and why the report after a wash reads like an inspection.

Common questions

Not seeing yours? Contact us.

How often should a Palm Beach boat be washed?
Bi-weekly is the working minimum here, and after every use on top of that. A boat washed monthly in this sun and salt is a boat that will need correction work years earlier than it should.
Can I book detailing without a management retainer?
Detailing shops in the Palm Beaches will take a one-off job and Vantage will point you at a good one. What Vantage sells is the scheduled care and the honest scoping of correction work when the boat genuinely needs it.
Do you cover Jupiter and North Palm Beach?
Yes. The corridor runs from Boynton up through the Palm Beach Inlet, Riviera Beach, Lake Park, and North Palm Beach to Jupiter and Tequesta. Ask about a specific marina rather than assuming it is out of range.
Is bottom cleaning part of the wash schedule?
No, because it is diving work. It runs on its own interval with a diver, coordinated and reported alongside everything else on the boat.
